Fred Khoury | Founder & CSO

Fred Khoury is a globally recognized cosmetic chemist and a leading force in performance skincare innovation. Operating out of our Chatsworth, Los Angeles laboratories, Fred brings over two decades of elite formulation and product development expertise to the contract manufacturing space. As a prolific inventor with over 15 USPTO patents in skincare formulation, Fred has consistently pushed the boundaries of cosmetic science. His pioneering, patented breakthroughs include advanced delivery systems for Vitamin C and peptides, synergistic hyaluronic acid and retinoid compounds, and cutting-edge dermal rejuvenation aerosols utilizing perfluorocarbons. Fred’s visionary approach ensures that every brand partnered with Above Rinaldi Labs is engineered with science-backed, results-driven integrity.

Her deep mastery of omni-channel market strategy, including dermatology clinics, professional spas, direct-to-consumer (DTC), and e-commerce, ensures our partners achieve unparalleled speed-to-market. Mike Bekerejian
Mike Bekerejian is the VP of Strategic Partnership at Above Rinaldi Labs, where he leads the pricing and tech transfer opportunities to ensure new projects are not only innovative but commercially viable. With a background in business and 15+ years of experience in the cosmetics industry, Mike is the bridge between a brand's aspirations and their bottom line. At ARL, he is committed to unit economics and manufacturability. Mike knows that the founders who win are the ones who think about scale, stability, and target cost structures from day one. He works tirelessly to build the collaborative relationships required to get products to market at a mass scale.
Nicole Chamoun
Nicole Chamoun is the Senior Technical Product Development Manager at Above Rinaldi Labs, where she manages the intricate development of formulas from initial ideation straight through to production. Nicole studied biology in undergrad and originally intended to become a dermatologist. Today, she blends her deep understanding of science with her personal passion for cooking and baking to "cook up" the best formulas in the industry. At ARL, Nicole is fiercely dedicated to "Fit for Purpose" formulation, steering brands away from Frankenstein benchmark briefs and unstable "free-from" lists. She optimizes for performance you can prove and consistency you can scale.
Nataly Liza
Nataly Liza is the R&D Laboratory Senior Manager at Above Rinaldi Labs, overseeing formulation development, final formula approval, and the critical technical transfer to mass manufacturing. Originally studying to become a kindergarten teacher, Nataly pivoted to cosmetics in 2012 and built a powerhouse career from the ground up, moving from packaging to lab technician, to compounder, to QA/QC, and finally to formulation. This extensive cross-functional experience allows her to design formulas with deep operational empathy. At ARL, she is deeply dedicated to manufacturability. She translates bench prototypes into full-scale production, optimizing complex systems to ensure the chemistry remains stable and flawless at massive scale.
Mary Haddad
Mary Haddad is the Innovation Brand Development Manager at Above Rinaldi Labs, where she acts as the creator and storyteller for innovative beauty concepts, translating raw science and market trends into client-ready product positioning. With a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a background starting on the retail side of the beauty industry, Mary knows exactly what excites the end consumer. At ARL, she uses that insight to help founders shape realistic, scalable ideas, bridging the gap between a brand's vision and a manufacturable reality. Mary is fiercely dedicated to clarity and purpose, steering brands away from fleeting trends and toward smart, high-performance formulas that solve a clear need and drive long-term success.
Francesca Aguilar
Francesca Aguilar is the Senior Manager of Product Development at Above Rinaldi Labs, where she guides brand founders through the entire journey of creation, from initial concept to commercialization. With a background in psychology and early career experience working for a boutique spa brand, Francesca approaches product development through the lens of human behavior and sensory architecture. As ARL's very first PD hire in 2018, she is fiercely dedicated to designing for real-world use, not just lab performance. Francesca requires every formula to pass her internal "Why does this exist?" audit, prioritizing the hard science and consumer psychology behind creating new products. She would rather a formula boost barrier lipid replenishment, has immediate perceptible efficacy, and/or is scalable chemistry than vague marketing hype.
Jenny Rea
Jenny Rea is the Senior Commercialization Project Manager at Above Rinaldi Labs, bringing extensive expertise in end-to-end Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) across the beauty, personal care, and OTC industries. Acting as the primary Point of Contact (POC) for both external brands and internal stakeholders, Jenny guides projects seamlessly from initial concept through full-scale commercialization. With a deep background in uniting cross-functional departments, from R&D and Regulatory to Packaging and Operations, she specializes in flawlessly prepping both the customer and the internal ARL team for success. Jenny excels at implementing structure in fast-paced environments, ensuring everyone is perfectly aligned to solve complex problems early and turn a founder's innovative vision into a launch-ready reality.
